I have taught piano lessons for the past 15 years, starting out as a teenager working with the kids of my Mom’s friends. Since 2024, I have taught at Hunter College here in NYC as a Graduate Center Teaching Fellow, and I am presently a Doctoral Candidate in Piano at the CUNY Graduate Center. At Hunter I have taught individual piano lessons in addition to classroom ear training/sight singing/basic keyboard skills. I have worked with students of all ages in private lessons and masterclasses, ranging from 4 to 65+, beginners to blossoming artists!

At the most fundamental level, my purpose as your teacher is to guide and accompany you in the growth of your own individual artistic voice. In our work together, our objective is to equip you with the tools necessary to create music that resonates most clearly with your sense of identity, beauty, or purpose.

Primary goals of my musical/teaching philosophy:

• Heightening connection to the body - developing a natural, comfortable musicianship that listens to both your innate creativity and your body’s natural intuition

• Developing the musical, technical, professional, and personal skills to solve complex problems (whether they be musical or distinctly non-musical!)

• Developing a consistent, dedicated, and healthy work ethic and the ability to set, pursue, and follow through on long term goals that rely on the development of new skills

• Technical development - understanding our body’s mechanics and how they relate to an expressive musical goal

• Understanding our own creative motivations and voice - honing our sense of purpose and the sensitivities necessary to pursue it
